Wicker Versus Rattan Sofa Comparison
Set Type
The Shintenchi option is a complete four-piece sectional set, providing a modular arrangement that includes a coffee table. This design allows you to configure the pieces into an L-shape or separate them for different social needs. In contrast, the Natural Expressions product is a standalone two-seat loveseat. It does not include a table or additional modules. If you need a full seating ensemble for a patio, the Shintenchi set offers more components. If you only want a single sofa unit, the Natural Expressions loveseat is the focused choice. The sectional nature of the Shintenchi set gives it a broader scope.
Seating Capacity
Capacity differs significantly between these two items. The Shintenchi sectional is designed to seat two to three adults comfortably, thanks to its larger footprint and modular layout. The Natural Expressions loveseat is strictly a two-person seat. Its dimensions are fixed, limiting it to two occupants. If you frequently host small groups or need extra space for lounging, the Shintenchi set provides more capacity. For just you and one guest, the Natural Expressions loveseat is sufficient. The Shintenchi set offers greater flexibility for larger gatherings.
Frame Material
Both products utilize a powder-coated steel frame for structural integrity. The Natural Expressions loveseat specifies a rust-resistant powder coating with a load-bearing capacity of 350 pounds per seat. The Shintenchi set also uses a sturdy powder-coated steel frame to support its PE rattan weave. While both rely on steel for strength, the Natural Expressions data explicitly states the weight limit per seat. The Shintenchi data confirms the steel construction but does not list a specific weight limit. Both offer durable metal cores, but the Natural Expressions provides more specific load data.
Material
The weaving materials distinguish these two options. The Natural Expressions loveseat features a wicker backrest with a high-back hollow-out design and wood-grain aluminum armrests. The fabric is Olefin, which is noted for UV resistance and breathability. The Shintenchi set uses all-weather PE rattan that is hand-knitted. PE rattan is described as staying cool to the touch and resisting fading or cracking. The Natural Expressions combines wicker with wood-grain accents, while the Shintenchi relies entirely on synthetic PE rattan for its exterior weave.
Cushion Thickness
Cushion specifications vary between the two products. The Natural Expressions loveseat features a seat cushion that is six inches thick, filled with high-density sponge. The back cushion is 18.9 inches high, offering substantial support. The Shintenchi set includes thickened cushions covered in fade-resistant fabric, described as firm yet plush. However, the exact thickness in inches is not provided in the data for the Shintenchi set. The Natural Expressions loveseat offers precise measurements for its cushioning, allowing for a clearer understanding of the comfort level compared to the unspecified thickness of the Shintenchi cushions.
Choose the Right Patio Sofa
You need a complete outdoor living set
The Shintenchi set includes a four-piece sectional with a coffee table, providing a complete arrangement for your patio. It features PE rattan woven over a powder-coated steel frame for durability. The modular design lets you arrange pieces in an L-shape or separate them to fit your specific space and social needs.
You want deep seating with high back support
This Natural Expressions loveseat offers a 6-inch thick seat cushion and an 18.9-inch high back for substantial support. The olefin fabric is breathable and UV-resistant, while the removable cushion covers allow for easy washing. It features a sturdy steel frame with a 350-pound load capacity per seat and ergonomic wood-grain armrests.
You prefer a compact single-seat option
The Natural Expressions line is available in a single sofa variation, making it ideal for smaller balconies or tight corners. You can choose from multiple configurations, including single sofas and ottoman combos. The powder-coated steel frame ensures rust resistance, and the tapered feet help keep the unit balanced on uneven lawn surfaces.
