Acacia Wood vs Aluminum Patio Specs
Set composition
The Devoko 7-Piece Acacia Wood and Rattan Dining Set includes a table and six chairs, offering a complete dining arrangement for larger gatherings. In contrast, the Devoko 5-Piece Aluminum Patio Dining Set also provides a table and six chairs. Although the piece count differs in the product name, both configurations seat six people. This means you get the same seating capacity regardless of whether you choose the seven-piece or five-piece designation. The total number of items shipped may vary due to packaging, but the functional seating for your outdoor space remains consistent at six seats for both options.
Frame material
Frame durability is a key differentiator between these two sets. The 7-Piece Acacia Wood set utilizes a steel frame to provide structural strength and stability. Steel is robust but requires maintenance to prevent rust if the finish is compromised. The 5-Piece Aluminum set features a powder-coated aluminum frame. Aluminum is naturally resistant to rust and corrosion, making it ideal for humid or coastal environments. The powder coating adds an extra layer of protection against scratches and fading. If you prioritize low maintenance and resistance to weathering, the aluminum frame offers a practical advantage over the steel construction.
Tabletop material
The surface material affects both aesthetics and maintenance. The 7-Piece set uses a treated acacia wood tabletop. Acacia wood provides a natural, warm look and has good anti-corrosion properties, but wood can crack or deform over time if not properly cared for. The 5-Piece set uses a High-Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) tabletop. HIPS is resistant to stains, moisture, and heat, and it does not warp like wood or soften in high temperatures. You can simply wipe it clean with soap and water. For easy cleaning and consistent performance in varying weather conditions, the HIPS surface is more practical than the natural wood option.
Table dimensions
Table size determines how much space you need and how many items you can place on the surface. The 7-Piece Acacia Wood set has a table length of 59.1 inches and a width of 35.4 inches. This provides a generous surface area for placing food and drinks. The 5-Piece Aluminum set has a table length of 35.8 inches and a width of 35.8 inches. The aluminum table is significantly shorter in length, offering less linear space for dining. If you need to spread out a large meal or accommodate more plates simultaneously, the longer acacia wood table offers more utility for your outdoor dining area.
Additional features
Specific features can enhance the functionality of your patio set. The 5-Piece Aluminum set includes a built-in umbrella hole, allowing you to add a shade umbrella for protection from the sun during summer months. This is a practical feature for extended outdoor use. The 7-Piece Acacia Wood set does not list an umbrella hole in its specifications. Additionally, the aluminum set highlights a 400 lbs weight capacity per chair and table, emphasizing high stability. The wood set mentions a steel frame for strength but does not specify a weight limit. The built-in umbrella hole provides a clear functional advantage for sun protection.
