Shintenchi vs Maison Backyards Patio Sets
Set composition
You get a 4-piece conversation set from Shintenchi, which includes a glass coffee table, one double chair, and two single chairs. This compact arrangement fits smaller patios or porches. Maison Backyards offers a larger 7-piece set, labeled as 6+1 pieces, which includes a fire pit table and multiple seating options. The larger set accommodates more people and provides more seating variety. If you need space for a group, the Maison Backyards set has the advantage. If you prefer a simpler setup, Shintenchi is sufficient.
Table function
The Shintenchi set features a standard glass coffee table. It provides a flat surface for drinks or books but does not offer heat. Maison Backyards includes a propane fire pit table with 55,000 BTU output and tempered wind guard glass. This table provides steady warmth for evening gatherings. The fire pit adds a social focal point that the Shintenchi table lacks. For colder nights or extended outdoor use, the fire pit functionality is a clear benefit. Shintenchi remains a basic surface option.
Frame material
Shintenchi uses powder-coated steel tubes for its frame. This material is resistant to deformation and aging, with the coating reducing erosion from rain. The steel construction is sturdy and stable. Maison Backyards uses a metal frame covered with 25 percent thickened PE rattan. This combination offers rust resistance and durability against outdoor exposure. The rattan weave adds a textured look. Both frames are built for outdoor use, but the steel may feel more rigid while the rattan offers a different aesthetic and material feel.
Seating comfort
Shintenchi chairs feature textile fabric with many meshes for breathability, which helps in summer heat. The cushions are not included in the package. You must purchase them separately if desired. Maison Backyards includes 4-inch thick seat cushions with the set. The chairs also offer 360-degree swivel rocking motion and extended backrests. The included thick cushions and ergonomic design provide immediate comfort without extra purchases. For ready-to-use comfort, the Maison Backyards set is superior.
Placement options
Shintenchi recommends placement in gardens, porches, lawns, and poolside areas. The set is lightweight at 55 pounds, making it easy to move. You can lift the chairs easily due to the curved back design. Maison Backyards suggests placement in backyards, decks, balconies, and patios. The larger size and fire pit element make it heavier and less mobile. If you need to rearrange furniture frequently, the lighter Shintenchi set is easier to handle. For permanent deck or patio installation, either works well.
Which Patio Set Fits Your Space
Small patio owners needing compact seating
The Shintenchi set includes only four pieces, making it ideal for tighter spaces like small porches or balconies. Its steel frame weighs just 55 pounds, so you can move the chairs easily. The textile fabric is breathable, keeping you cool during warm weather without adding bulk to your outdoor area.
Hosts wanting fire pit warmth and swivel
Maison Backyards features a 55,000 BTU propane fire pit table, providing steady warmth for evening gatherings. The chairs offer 360-degree swivel and rocking motion, enhancing comfort. With seven pieces included, you get ample seating for friends and family, all supported by a rust-resistant metal frame and thick PE rattan weave.
Buyers preferring thick cushions and wicker style
This set stands out with 4-inch thick seat cushions that follow natural body posture. The reinforced PE rattan weave offers durability and a classic wicker look. Unlike the Shintenchi option, which excludes cushions, this Maison Backyards set provides immediate comfort and a substantial presence for backyards or decks with its robust construction.
