Who it fits
Good fit for
This daybed suits buyers who want a mid-century or Scandinavian look without taking up too much space. Its 51.6-inch width fits well on smaller patios or balconies. The acacia wood and Poly CD fabric are ideal for those who prefer natural materials that can handle outdoor conditions. If you like reversible cushions for changing aesthetics, this model offers that flexibility. It also works well for people who want easy assembly with included hardware.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you need a larger seating area for multiple people. The 51.6-inch width may feel narrow for taller individuals or those who prefer sprawling out. It also lacks a storage compartment, so you will need another place for cushions. If you prefer a higher seat for easier standing, the 9.1-inch height might feel low. Additionally, if you want a fully weatherproof solution without any maintenance, the wood frame requires wiping and covering during bad weather.
Verdict: The SAFAVIEH Outdoor Kento Daybed offers a solid, space-efficient option for those who value natural materials and reversible cushion designs. Its compact size and durable build make it a practical choice for smaller outdoor areas.
Key specs for this daybed
Frame Material: Acacia wood
Acacia wood is a dense hardwood known for strength and natural resistance to rot and insects. This makes it suitable for outdoor environments where furniture faces sun and moisture. You benefit from a frame that holds up better than softer woods. When shopping, look for solid hardwood frames rather than lightweight composites for longer lifespan in patio settings.
Seat Material: Poly CD fabric
Poly CD fabric is a synthetic material designed for durability and weather resistance. It resists fading, mildew, and water damage better than natural fibers like cotton or linen. This allows you to leave cushions outside with minimal maintenance. Compare this to standard indoor fabrics, which degrade quickly in humid or sunny outdoor conditions.
Dimensions: 51.6" wide x 63.4" deep
These measurements define the footprint of the daybed on your patio. The width allows space for two people to lounge comfortably side by side. The depth provides ample room for stretching out or using multiple pillows. Measure your available space carefully to ensure this size fits without overcrowding your outdoor area or blocking walkways.
Seat Height: 9.1 inches
A seat height of 9.1 inches is slightly lower than standard chair height. This creates a relaxed, low-profile lounging experience typical of daybeds. It is easy to sit down and stand up for most adults. Compare this to higher patio chairs if you prefer a more upright seating position for dining or socializing.
Weight: 99 pounds
At 99 pounds, this daybed is substantial and stable. The weight helps it resist tipping in wind and provides a solid feel when in use. However, it requires two people to move it safely during rearrangement. Consider this weight when planning your patio layout, as it is not designed for frequent relocation.
Design and build overview
The SAFAVIEH Kento Daybed uses an acacia wood frame. Acacia is a dense hardwood that resists rot and insects. This material choice supports outdoor use in sun and moisture. The listing notes natural wood grain and color variations. Each piece looks unique. The frame measures 52 inches wide by 63 inches deep. The overall height is 23 inches. The seat height sits at 9.1 inches. The unit weighs 99 pounds. This weight suggests a solid build but allows for moving it when needed.
Cushions are made from Poly CD fabric. The seat cushion is 8 inches thick. The back cushion is 6 inches thick. Both have reversible designs with zippered covers. You can flip them to extend fabric life. The listing says to wipe them clean with a damp cloth. It also recommends storing them covered during bad weather. This care routine helps maintain the material. The daybed fits contemporary, modern, or coastal decor styles. The natural and taupe color pairs with many palettes. According to the listing, assembly is easy with included hardware. You do not need special tools to put it together. The design prioritizes low maintenance and lasting structure.
Setup and daily use guide
Assembly is straightforward. The listing notes that the unit includes all necessary hardware for easy setup. You do not need special tools or complex instructions. The frame arrives ready for your space.
Once assembled, the daybed fits into various settings. Its dimensions are 51.6 inches wide by 63.4 inches deep and 23.2 inches high. The seat height is 9.1 inches. This profile pairs well with contemporary, modern, mid-century, Scandinavian, Japandi, coastal, transitional, bohemian, and eclectic decor styles. The natural wood grain and taupe tones help it blend into these environments.
Daily care is simple. Wipe the frame and cushions with a soft, damp cloth. The Poly CD fabric cushions feature reversible designs with zippered covers. You can flip them to manage wear evenly. The seat cushions are 8 inches thick, and the back cushions are 6 inches thick. This thickness provides support without adding bulk.
For long-term storage, cover the unit during extended periods of inclement weather. The acacia wood frame offers natural resistance to rot and insects. However, protecting it from heavy rain or snow extends its life. The weight is 99 pounds. This makes it stable but heavy enough to stay in place. You can move it if needed, but it is designed to remain stationary. The reversible cushions allow you to refresh the look by switching sides. This simple maintenance keeps the daybed functional and attractive.
Before you buy this daybed
You should verify your outdoor space dimensions before ordering. The unit measures 63.4 inches deep and 51.6 inches wide. Ensure you have enough clearance for comfortable movement around the frame. The 9.1-inch seat height works well with standard outdoor dining chairs or low lounge seating. If you plan to mix this with other pieces, check that the Natural and Taupe tones align with your existing decor. The listing mentions compatibility with modern, coastal, and bohemian styles. You may need a weather cover for extended inclement weather. The fabric cushions feature zippered covers for easy cleaning. Wipe the acacia wood frame with a damp cloth regularly. This piece fits best in spaces where you want a dedicated lounging area rather than a full seating group. Compare its footprint against larger sectional options to ensure it meets your spatial needs. The 99-pound weight suggests it is movable but stable.
