- 9-inch height offers a low-profile look
- Weather-resistant fabric covers protect dense foam
- Non-marking foot glides protect deck surfaces
Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this chaise if you want a sturdy, low-maintenance seat for your patio. The aluminum frame resists rust, making it suitable for humid or rainy climates. The 77-inch length accommodates most adults comfortably. The 9-inch height is ideal if you prefer a sunbed feel over a high chair. Non-marking glides protect delicate decking. It suits buyers who value durable materials and easy cleaning over adjustable reclining features. The gray color blends well with modern outdoor decor.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you need a high-back chair for lumbar support. The 9-inch height provides minimal elevation, which may be uncomfortable for users with mobility issues. It lacks adjustable recline positions, so you cannot change the angle. If you prefer a heavier, more stable feel, the 57-pound weight might be too light for windy areas. You should also look elsewhere if you want a chaise with a built-in side table or storage compartment. This model is a basic lounging surface only.
Verdict: The Modway Tahoe is a solid, low-profile chaise for basic sunbathing. Its aluminum frame and weather-resistant cushions offer reliable durability for outdoor use.
Key specs explained for this chaise
Frame Material: Powder-Coated Aluminum
The frame uses aluminum that has been coated with a durable finish. This material resists rust and corrosion, making it suitable for outdoor exposure to rain or humidity. You do not need to worry about the metal degrading quickly. It is lighter than steel but still sturdy. This choice benefits buyers who want low maintenance furniture that withstands weather without frequent repairs or painting.
Length: 77 inches
This chaise lounge extends 77 inches from end to end. That length accommodates most adults comfortably for lying down. You can stretch out fully without your feet hanging off the edge. This dimension is important if you have limited patio space. It fits standard outdoor areas better than longer recliners. Check your available floor space to ensure this length works for your layout before purchasing.
Width: 27 inches
The seating area is 27 inches wide. This width provides ample room for most body types to relax without feeling cramped. You have enough space to shift positions or place a small pillow beside you. It is wider than some standard chairs but narrower than wide sofas. This dimension ensures comfort for lounging while keeping the footprint manageable for smaller patios or balconies.
Height: 9 inches
The seat height is 9 inches from the ground. This low profile is typical for chaise lounges designed for reclining. You sink into the cushions rather than sitting upright. It may be slightly difficult to stand up from if you have mobility issues. However, it offers a relaxed, sunbed-like feel. Consider this height if you prefer a laid-back lounging experience over an elevated seating position.
Weight: 57 pounds
The unit weighs 57 pounds. This weight makes it heavy enough to stay stable in wind but light enough for one person to move. You can reposition it to follow the sun or clean underneath it. It is not so heavy that you need professional help to place it. This balance is practical for patio owners who want to adjust their furniture layout seasonally or occasionally.
Design and build details
According to the listing, this chaise uses a powder-coated aluminum frame. Aluminum is lightweight and does not rust, which helps it stay in good shape outdoors. The powder coating adds an extra layer of protection against scratches and weather. You get dense foam padding inside the cushions. This material holds its shape better than cheaper fillings. The fabric covers are weather-resistant, meaning they repel water and resist fading from sun exposure. You do not need to bring the cushions inside every time it rains, though storing them will extend their life.
The unit measures 77 inches in length, 27 inches in width, and 9 inches in height. This size fits standard patio spaces without taking up too much room. The non-marking foot glides protect your deck or patio surface from scratches. They also keep the chaise stable on uneven ground. The total weight is 57 pounds. This is light enough for one person to move, but heavy enough to stay put in a breeze. You can choose from three color options. All come with gray frames and matching cushion covers. The layout is simple. It is a single recliner designed for lounging. You can adjust your position by leaning back. There are no moving parts or recline mechanisms listed. The design focuses on comfort and durability rather than complex adjustability. This makes it easy to clean and maintain. You just wipe down the frame and shake out the cushions. The gray color hides dirt well, so it looks clean longer.
Setup and daily use guide
The Modway Tahoe arrives as a single chaise lounge unit. You will need to assemble it, though the listing does not detail the specific steps. The frame is made of powder-coated aluminum, which keeps the overall weight at 57 pounds. This mass is manageable for one person to move, but it is heavy enough to stay stable on a patio surface without tipping easily. The non-marking foot glides are a practical feature for your flooring. They protect decks or concrete from scratches and scuffs while providing a firm base. You do not need to worry about the glides leaving residue or damaging your outdoor surface during daily adjustments.
The dimensions are 77 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 9 inches high. This height is relatively low, which may suit users who prefer a grounded feel rather than a high lounge chair. The dense foam padding is covered by weather-resistant fabric. This means you can leave the cushions outside in typical rain or sun without immediate damage. The fabric is designed to resist moisture and fading, so you do not need to bring them inside every time it rains. However, the listing does not mention removable covers for washing. You will likely need to spot clean the fabric or use a gentle outdoor cleaner to maintain the gray finish. The chaise fits well in standard patio layouts, but its length requires ample space for full extension. You should ensure you have at least 77 inches of clear length for comfortable use. The aluminum construction ensures it will not rust, making it a low-maintenance option for everyday relaxation.
Things to check before buying
Before you buy, consider how this chaise fits your space. At 77 inches long, it requires a substantial patio area. You must check your deck or poolside dimensions to ensure it fits comfortably. The 27-inch width is standard for lounging, but verify it does not block walkways. Since the listing notes weather-resistant fabric covers, you should still store the cushions during heavy rain or winter to extend their life. The dense foam padding inside needs dry conditions to prevent mold. This unit weighs 57 pounds, so it is movable but not ultra-light. When comparing it to other options in our guide, note that this is a single chair. You will need to purchase additional pieces if you want a full set. The gray color matches many modern palettes, but check the other two color options if your existing furniture is different. Ensure you have the floor space for this specific length before ordering.
Check before you buy
- Measure your patio space to ensure the 77-inch length fits comfortably.
- Verify the gray color matches your existing outdoor furniture palette.
- Plan for cushion storage during heavy rain or winter months.
- Confirm you have enough floor space for this single chair.
