9-Piece Wicker vs 5-Piece Aluminum Fire
Set composition
The LayinSun 9-Piece Swivel Rocking Wicker Set includes nine distinct components, offering a comprehensive outdoor living solution. This configuration typically includes multiple chairs and a coffee table, providing ample seating and surface area for gatherings. In contrast, the LayinSun 5-Piece 7-Seat Aluminum Fire Pit Set contains five pieces. Despite having fewer individual items, it accommodates seven seats, indicating a denser seating arrangement per piece. The nine-piece set prioritizes variety in furniture types, while the five-piece set focuses on maximizing seating capacity within a smaller component count. You should choose based on whether you prefer a diverse layout or concentrated seating.
Frame material
Frame construction differs significantly between these two models. The 9-Piece Wicker Set uses a high-strength metal frame structure, which is then wound with manual wicker. This combination aims to prevent fading and cracking in hot outdoor environments. The 5-Piece Aluminum Set features a solid aluminum frame with powder coating. Aluminum is naturally rust-resistant and lightweight, while the powder coating adds durability against deformation. Metal frames generally offer robust support, but aluminum provides specific advantages in corrosion resistance. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize the traditional wicker aesthetic over the modern, rust-proof qualities of aluminum.
Table type
The central table serves different functions in each set. The 9-Piece Wicker Set includes a coffee table with double-layer storage space, featuring rattan accents and water-corrugated glass. This design is practical for storing drinks and food while maintaining a classic look. The 5-Piece Aluminum Set features a fire pit table, adding warmth and ambiance to your outdoor space. This table type transforms the set into a focal point for evening gatherings. If you need additional storage for patio items, the coffee table is superior. If you value heating capabilities and a social fire feature, the aluminum set offers a distinct advantage.
Cushion thickness
Comfort levels vary due to cushion specifications. The LayinSun 9-Piece Wicker Set comes with cushions filled with 4-inch soft elastic sponge. These are covered in durable olefin fabric, which offers good waterproof properties and light fastness up to 2000 hours. The LayinSun 5-Piece Aluminum Set features thicker 5-inch olefin cushions. These are filled with fluffy sponges for lasting support and include adjustable straps to keep them in place. The extra inch of thickness in the aluminum set provides more plushness, which may be beneficial for longer sitting periods. Both use olefin, but the 5-inch option offers enhanced comfort.
Seating capacity
Seating arrangements impact how many guests you can host. The 9-Piece Wicker Set does not explicitly list a total seating capacity in its key specs, but its nine-piece composition suggests multiple individual chairs. The 5-Piece Aluminum Set explicitly states a seating capacity of seven. This means the five pieces are designed to accommodate seven people, likely through larger sofas or loveseats. If you frequently host larger groups, the explicit seven-seat capacity of the aluminum set ensures you have enough room. The wicker set’s capacity is less defined, so you should verify the exact chair count if group size is your primary concern.
Weight and stability
Heft and stability features differ between the models. The 9-Piece Wicker Set weighs 243 pounds and features a balanced metal base that supports 360-degree rotation and gentle rocking. This design ensures stability while allowing movement. The 5-Piece Aluminum Set is heavier at 376 pounds, indicating a more substantial build. It includes non-slip foot pads to firmly grasp the ground and reduce noise. The increased weight and dedicated stability pads suggest the aluminum set is more stationary and less likely to shift. If you prefer furniture that stays put, the aluminum set offers superior stability through its weight and pads.
