How to choose the right one
-
Check frame material
Aluminum frames offer durability and require less maintenance than other metals. The top-ranked 8-piece set uses aluminum, which resists rust and supports heavy cushions. If you prefer a different look, woven wicker is an alternative. The second pick features a wicker construction that fits well on decks or balconies. Select the material that matches your local climate and your willingness to perform upkeep tasks.
-
Review seating capacity
Match the set size to your household needs. The first option includes a three-seat sofa, two armchairs, and a loveseat, totaling five seats. This configuration suits larger families or frequent entertaining. The second set provides five seats across four pieces, including swivel chairs. Consider how many people you host regularly. Ensure the seating capacity aligns with your typical gathering size to avoid overcrowding or wasted space.
-
Evaluate storage features
Integrated storage simplifies organization for outdoor cushions and accessories. The beige wicker set includes a storage table, keeping items hidden and protected from the elements. This feature is valuable for smaller patios where clutter is an issue. The aluminum set relies on separate waterproof covers for protection instead of built-in storage. Decide if you prefer concealed storage within the furniture or external covers for easy access.
-
Assess swivel functionality
Swivel chairs enhance conversation by allowing easy face-to-face interaction. The second pick features swivel chairs, which are ideal for small spaces where turning around is difficult. This mechanism adds flexibility to your seating arrangement. The first set does not mention swivel capabilities, focusing instead on static, stable seating. Choose swivel options if you value dynamic interaction and compact movement in your backyard or porch area.
-
Verify protective covers
Included covers extend the life of your furniture by shielding it from rain and sun. The aluminum set comes with waterproof covers, providing a complete solution for weather protection. This feature reduces the need for separate purchases. The wicker set does not list included covers in its specifications. You may need to buy covers separately for the second option. Prioritize sets with included covers if you want a hassle-free maintenance routine.
